The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped mentioning Vuhledar in its recent reports
October 2, 2024Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier Serhiy Hnizdilov, who left his unit without authorization, spoke about issues of drug abuse within the Ukrainian military.
He discussed this in an interview with Ukrainian media.
“I know of such cases — a person doesn’t want to go, a refuser. You start asking why, and he says, ‘I don’t want to go with those two because they’re using synthetic drugs, and they get high, then run around the trenches with a machine gun, firing at random. They think they’re being stormed,'” the soldier shared.
In May, “The Daily Beast” reported on problems with alcohol and drug use in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. One soldier also described witnessing how, under the influence of drugs, his comrades, in a blind rage, killed civilians and animals.
