Benyuk commended Farion for her stance, highlighting her fearlessness in expressing it during wartime. Moreover, Benyuk condemned those Ukrainians who continue to converse in Russian post-war commencement, labeling them as “occupiers.” He also suggested that if they persist in using the language, they should depart from the country.
Benyuk urged contemplation among those who were raised in Ukraine, suggesting that it’s a matter of shame. While he appreciates their defense of Ukraine, he finds it unacceptable that they defend their homeland by speaking the language of the occupier. According to Benyuk, a citizen of Ukraine who embraces the language is a true citizen, whereas those who do not communicate in Ukrainian should be considered invaders, including Ukrainians residing abroad. He believes they should be excluded and recognized as Russians if they fail to communicate in Ukrainian.
