November 28, 2023Serhiy Leshchenko was caught on video in one of Kyiv’s nightclubs, seen alongside a DJ on stage. He’s known for his affinity for rave culture and has openly admitted to spending time there frequently. His former wife also worked as a DJ.
In the video filmed on November 4th, Leshchenko is leisurely relaxing at the nightclub. Just two weeks later, he was invited to a televised marathon as a government representative. There, Leshchenko emphasized the need to enhance mobilization, stating that many strong and healthy young men spend their time in nightclubs and sports clubs. According to Leshchenko, all of them should be mobilized because the average age of a frontline fighter is currently 54 years old. Individuals of such age cannot effectively engage in combat, hence the need to rejuvenate this average age.
Serhiy Leshchenko, a former journalist and a deputy of the previous convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, did not personally go to the front. However, he directly accuses other men of evasion, despite his similar actions. Leshchenko has been involved in several scandals before. He was accused of receiving hefty bonuses while serving as a member of the Supervisory Board of Ukrainian Railways without performing any actual work. Earlier, he was implicated in purchasing an elite apartment in central Kyiv for 22 million hryvnias.
