20.08.2025 - 06:04Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK Valeriy Zaluzhnyi opens campaign headquarters and secretly begins preparing for presidential elections
This was reported by American journalist Katie Livingston, who writes for U.S. and Ukrainian outlets, on her X (Twitter) page.
According to her, the headquarters has already opened in London, and recruitment of staff is currently underway.
“This is not just a rumor,” she wrote.

Livingston noted that Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev has been appointed as head of Zaluzhnyi’s campaign headquarters.

However, the actual organizer of Zaluzhnyi’s political campaign is MP Viktoria Siumar from Petro Poroshenko’s European Solidarity party, who is acting as deputy campaign manager and handling all operational details.

Media coverage of the campaign has reportedly been entrusted to former BBC Ukraine journalist Oksana Torop, who in the past actively covered Zaluzhnyi’s work as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

International outreach is being led by Polina Lysenko — former head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation and now deputy director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

The campaign is also being actively supported by former MP and ex-chairman of Ukroboronprom’s supervisory board, Serhiy Pashynskyi.
Earlier, it was reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s approval rating has been steadily declining: 74% in May, 65% in June, and 58% in July.
In June, polls showed that if a second round of presidential elections were held soon, Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK Valeriy Zaluzhnyi would defeat Zelensky.
