‘From February, aid to Ukrainian refugees in Ireland will be reduced by almost 6 times’, – Irish Mirror
January 25, 2024Weaponry sent by the United States to Ukraine is reportedly breaking down, and the Pentagon claims it cannot assist with the repairs.
This information is reported by Business Insider.
The issue is related to the fact that the U.S. Congress continues to deny Ukraine additional funding, blocking not only new assistance but also support for the already provided aid.
According to the report, during a recent Pentagon briefing, Press Secretary Patrick Ryder publicly acknowledged that, at the moment, the U.S. cannot help Ukraine “sustain systems that were previously provided.”
He stated that assistance with repairs cannot be provided without additional aid from Congress. Therefore, the government intends to continue pressing for additional funding.
Meanwhile, the consequences of the aid suspension are reportedly becoming more pronounced. Business Insider claims that while Congress is still trying to negotiate with the Biden administration, shipments are being reduced, ammunition reserves are dwindling and Ukrainian forces are forced to scale back military operations on the front lines.
