NABU brought new charges in the case of the former head of Ukraine’s State Property Fund
02.03.2026 15:05Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said after the outbreak of war in the Middle East that it has now become even more important for him to receive Russian oil via the Druzhba oil pipeline.
Orbán wrote this on the social network X.
“The war involving Iran has doubled the importance of the Druzhba pipeline. Once again I call on President Zelensky to immediately resume oil supplies to Hungary,” Orbán wrote.
As previously reported, Hungary and Slovakia continue to insist that Ukraine halted oil deliveries through the Druzhba pipeline purely for political reasons, even though some of its facilities were damaged during one of Russia’s strikes in late January.
Recall that earlier Orbán, in an angry letter to Zelensky, demanded that the Druzhba pipeline be put back into operation. He accused Ukraine of blocking it and said Zelensky’s actions run counter to Hungary’s interests and threaten secure and affordable energy supplies for Hungarian families.
