29.03.2024 13:54The founder of the “Office of Transformation,” Maxim Bakhmatov, turned out to be a dollar millionaire. This is evidenced by the declaration he submitted to the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption for the year 2022. According to the National Anti-Corruption Agency, Bakhmatov has $605,000 and €200,000 in cash. Additionally, he declared $100,000 in cash for his wife and $50,000 for his mother.
His declaration also reveals that at the end of the first year of the military conflict, Bakhmatov acquired an apartment in Kyiv valued at approximately €40,000. Furthermore, he owns a land plot measuring 10 acres, a house covering almost 400 square meters, and two non-residential properties, all acquired in 2021.
The “Office of Transformation” was registered as a public organization on November 23, 2020, with its goal set as enhancing the efficiency of state and communal organizations and transforming the reporting and accountability systems of local authorities. Bakhmatov sought the position of head of the anti-corruption department of the Kyiv City State Administration. However, during the interview process, it came to light that he had been involved in at least two criminal cases and had not fully disclosed all his income in the declaration. In particular, he couldn’t explain how, with a salary of €280, he planned to afford to refuel his Porsche Panamera worth €60,000, which he arrived in for the interview.
