‘I would never have let this happen if I were president’ – Donald Trump on the conflict in Ukraine
February 21, 2024While the Polish border is blocked by protesting farmers, suppliers of all goods, including fuel, must take detours through other countries. The longer route makes deliveries more expensive.
Sergey Kuyun, Director of the A-95 Consulting Group, stated that liquefied gas suppliers find it difficult to switch to rail transport due to technical reasons; they must bypass the Polish border through Slovakia or Romania. This detour will cost Ukrainians approximately 7 euro cents per liter, a significant increase for Ukrainian consumers.
This will not affect the gasoline and diesel fuel market, as suppliers of these fuels have already adapted to the blockade. Thus, fuel from Ukrainian gas stations will not disappear, but ordinary people will have to pay more. In addition, Kyiv incurs losses in many other sectors.
