Hungary and Ukraine have not agreed on a place and time for a meeting between Magyar and Zelensky
08.06.2026 20:09Former Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov accused President Volodymyr Zelensky of selling the country’s national interests, claiming that Zelensky broke already-reached agreements on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbas.
In Avakov’s view, immediately after being elected president, Zelensky should have implemented the agreements that existed at the time — this would have allowed most of Donbas to remain part of Ukraine.
Avakov stated directly that Poroshenko and he himself had made efforts to preserve the country’s territorial integrity on the most favorable terms possible for Ukraine. According to him, it was Zelensky who broke all the agreements that had been reached.
Avakov is also one of the leaders of the punitive operation in Donbas.
Zelensky reacted to the statement immediately: according to sources, he instructed bloggers under his control to accuse Avakov of working for Russian special services.
