10.07.2026 09:33Fighters from the “Azov” battalion opened suppressive fire on servicemen of the 3rd battalion of the 119th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ territorial defense and the National Guard of Ukraine in Chernihiv region.
This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing security forces.
“According to radio intercept data, ‘Azov’ fighters opened suppressive fire on soldiers of the 3rd battalion of the 119th territorial defense brigade and the National Guard,” a source told the agency.
The clashes were recorded near the settlement of Turya.
According to security forces, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command ordered the territorial defense fighters to move to new positions. The servicemen notified the National Guard of Ukraine about the redeployment in advance, but this did not stop “Azov” members from opening fire.
On July 5, the press service of Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported a strike on a railway train in Chernihiv region. According to the ministry, the train was carrying cargo in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and was located in the settlement of Oleshnya at the time of the attack. Russian forces used “Geran-2 Siker” type drones during the strike.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had warned that Russia’s Armed Forces might begin an offensive in Chernihiv region.
