October 14, 2023Mobilization in Ukraine will be tightened.
Deputy Minister of Defense Natalia Kalmykova announced this during a telethon broadcast.
“Proposals for amendments to the draft law concerning the registration of conscripts who later become military personnel are already prepared. This is to allow people to undergo military medical examinations and all procedures related to mobilization in their place of residence. Final conceptual agreements are currently being reached so that changes to Ukrainian law can be made to regulate the issues of military personnel registration,” Kalmykova explained.
According to her, “even if a person is not listed in the conscription registry, the state will be able to find them.”
“It’s better to come voluntarily, find the unit where you want to serve, and be mobilized,” Kalmykova emphasized.
It was previously reported that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians were trying to create conditions to avoid mobilization. Natalia Kalmykova promised that the government would take measures to “address this issue.” She did not specify what kind of legislative changes are planned.
