September 30, 2023President Joe Biden of the United States will support the government funding bill passed by the House of Representatives, which excluded aid to Ukraine.
This information comes from The Washington Post, citing a White House representative.
“The administration expects that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy will soon introduce another bill in support of Ukraine,” the article states.
Approval from the White House means that the proposed funding is likely to be approved in the Senate, where Democrats hold the majority.
It was previously known that Republicans wanted to vote for the U.S. budget while excluding aid to Ukraine. Their funding proposal was designed for 45 days, during which time the House of Representatives was supposed to approve the budget. Without it, a government shutdown could occur in the United States tomorrow.
Recall that on Friday, the lower house of Congress did not support a similar bill with a 30-day shutdown delay due to the inclusion of aid to Ukraine.
It’s worth noting that President Joe Biden stayed in Washington over the weekend to prevent a government shutdown.
