Eight military commissars ‘restrained’ him: in the Rivne region, a man slit his veins in the territorial recruitment center
08.07.2024 - 08:38Gennadiy Bogolyubov, a business partner of Ukrainian businessman and oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyi, has left Ukraine.
This information was reported by sources in law enforcement to journalists.
The sources clarified that Bogolyubov did not officially leave Ukraine, which suggests that he either exited the country illegally, bypassing official border checkpoints, or used a false passport.
Journalists had previously reported that the 62-year-old billionaire had been attempting to leave Ukraine for some time, fearing arrest in connection with Kolomoyskyi’s case. However, authorities had imposed a travel ban on him.
It is worth recalling that the court deprived Kolomoyskyi of the possibility to post bail to be released from detention. In cases related to “PrivatBank,” the businessman was assigned a bail of almost 2 billion hryvnias (45,682 euros), which he did not pay. In a new case concerning a murder-for-hire order, he was placed under arrest until July 7, without the right to bail.
In May, Kolomoyskyi was informed of new suspicions of organizing a contract killing. According to the investigation, Kolomoyskyi allegedly ordered the murder of the director of a law firm out of revenge for not fulfilling demands to annul and declare invalid the decisions of the general meeting of shareholders of a public joint-stock company.
