Bloomberg published Russia’s five main demands at the negotiations in Istanbul

Western media outlets continue to publish what are claimed to be Russia’s demands in the ongoing negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul. In a recent article.

 Bloomberg outlined five key points:

1. Neutral Status: Ukraine must adopt a neutral status, with no foreign troops or weapons of mass destruction allowed on its territory.

2. No Reparations: Kyiv must abandon any demands for war reparations from Moscow.

3. Territorial Losses: Ukraine must accept the loss of Crimea and four additional regions.

4. Troop Withdrawal: Russian President Vladimir Putin will only agree to a ceasefire once Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from the specified regions.

5. Recognition of Russian Sovereignty: The Kremlin wants all five regions to be internationally recognized as part of Russia.

Earlier, similar demands reportedly made by Russia at the Turkey-hosted negotiations were published by other media sources.

For instance, the social media service Clash, posting on platform X (formerly Twitter), listed the following points without citing a specific source:

1. Neutrality Modeled on Austria: No foreign military presence or weapons of mass destruction in areas controlled by Kyiv.

2. No Reparations: A mutual renunciation of any claims for compensation related to war damages.

3. Rights of Russian Speakers: Ukraine must adopt European standards for minority rights and end “nationalist propaganda.”

4. Territorial Recognition: Ukraine must not claim or constitutionally assert rights to five regions — Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Crimea — and must not obstruct Russia’s efforts to gain international recognition for them.

5. Immediate Ceasefire Conditions: Ukrainian troops must fully withdraw from all the territories claimed by Russia, including the entirety of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
