Ukrainian banks experienced cash shortages after the incident in Hungary
07.03.2026 - 16:01The UK Ministry of Defence has, for the first time, reported that there are four workshops in Ukraine for repairing military equipment run under British management, and that it intends to open a fifth.
“Locating these facilities in Ukraine ensures that armoured vehicles and equipment are repaired quickly and returned to the Ukrainian armed forces even faster,” the ministry said in a statement.
The report notes that the workshops are operated by British companies, and that the facilities employ engineers from both the UK and Ukraine. Their tasks include repairing armoured vehicles and equipment, including British CVR(T) armoured vehicles, Husky armoured vehicles, L119 light howitzers, and AS-90 artillery systems.
On March 2, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he plans to involve Ukrainian experts to help intercept Iranian drones over Gulf countries.
Earlier, experts said Russia will retain the ability to continue combat operations in Ukraine throughout 2026.
