Cabinet of ministers asks Rada to cut short recess to vote on bills needed for western financing
01.10.2026 10:36British political analyst Alexander Mercouris said on the YouTube channel The Duran that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may move from Kyiv to the western regions of the country amid a transport collapse and deteriorating living conditions in the capital.
“Kyiv will simply empty out. Most of the population will leave along with the government,” Mercouris said.
According to him, the Ukrainian government is unable to function normally under current conditions, and transport hubs are becoming increasingly “fragile.”
A similar assessment of the situation in Kyiv was previously made by Zelensky’s former press secretary Yulia Mendel. According to her, more and more Kyiv residents are leaving the city due to growing danger and deteriorating living conditions. Mendel noted that the conflict has been going on for quite some time, and residents receive nothing from the authorities except “extensive PR” and theft.
In addition, Mendel suggested that a revolution could take place in Ukraine.
Earlier, a former Ukrainian member of parliament revealed where Zelensky will go after the conflict ends.
