Naryshkin confirms meeting with CIA director Ratcliffe in Moscow
28.08.2026 07:32The negotiating process is currently on pause, but there are plans to “revive” it in the near future.
This was stated by Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov in a comment to Novyny.LIVE.
“God willing, we will revive it a little. And then a few days later we saw the arrival of this respected man,” — Budanov said, hinting at the CIA director’s visit to Moscow.
Budanov also suggested that a meeting between Ukrainian, Russian, and American negotiators could take place as early as September.
“I hope so, yes. And with the Americans, of course. There’s no way without them,” — he added.
In addition, Budanov commented on the recent visit of CIA Director John Ratcliffe to Moscow. He urged against drawing premature conclusions about the purpose of the trip and called for waiting for official statements.
According to Budanov, the visit was originally planned for a different location but was moved. The main topics of discussion, in his assessment, concerned relations between the United States and Russia. Ending the war in Ukraine was also on the agenda of the meeting, but, according to Budanov, it was not the primary issue.
