January 8, 2024The case of two employees from the Ternopil Territorial Recruitment Center, suspected of beating and illegally depriving people of their freedom, has been referred to court.
This information comes from the State Bureau of Investigations of Ukraine.
The commander and a soldier-grenadier of the city’s Recruitment Center security department allegedly subjected conscripts to abuse: they abducted them from the streets, beat them within the military commissariat premises, and forced them to undergo medical examinations.
One of these incidents was captured on video and circulated online. Both individuals are under night house arrest and have been suspended from their positions.
The grenadier-soldier is accused of unlawfully depriving a person of their freedom, torture, and intentionally causing moderate bodily harm. The security department commander faces charges of torture and causing minor bodily harm.
