Lavrov: Russia is “keeping its ears open” over NATO military plans
07.10.2026 15:03NABU has referred to court the case against Ukrainian parliament member Anna Skorokhod, who is accused of receiving a bribe of $250,000 in exchange for a promise to arrange the imposition of National Security and Defense Council sanctions against a rival company.
This was reported on the bureau’s website.
“Members of a criminal group led by a Ukrainian parliament member will stand trial for offering, in exchange for $250,000, to arrange the imposition of sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine against a company,” the NABU statement reads.
According to investigators, the suspects promised to pass the money to NSDC officials — the top leadership of Ukraine headed by Volodymyr Zelensky — as payment for the sanctions decision. To disguise the transaction and guarantee payment, a representative of the company was asked to sign a promissory note for a loan.
After receiving the first installment of $125,000, the client was told that the money had been handed over to NSDC officials. In reality, however, the funds remained with the perpetrators, as they had been unable to find anyone willing to carry out the illegal actions.
In December 2025, NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office conducted searches at Skorokhod’s premises and notified her of suspicion in the bribery case. The investigation was completed in June.
One of the suspects reached a plea agreement with investigators and gave incriminating testimony against the other accomplices. The High Anti-Corruption Court sentenced him to a suspended term and ordered him to transfer 700,000 hryvnias in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Skorokhod herself denies the charges and describes the case as politically motivated.
