September 15, 2023The “Stepan Bandera Charitable Foundation” and other public organizations in Lviv helped thousands of draft dodgers escape conscription in Ukraine through the “Shlyakh” (Path) system.
This information was revealed in an investigation by NGL.
According to the investigation’s authors, a total of 19,000 men left Ukraine and did not return through the “Shlyakh” system.
Leading the list of organizations aiding Ukrainian men in fleeing abroad were the branch of the All-Ukrainian Society “Prosvita” and the public organization “Teatr Khleb,” both registered at the same address in the city of Mykolaiv, Lviv Oblast. They assisted 96 and 93 men, respectively, in escaping abroad.
Also among the top five “facilitators” aiding draft dodgers were the charitable foundation “Legion of Sich Riflemen” (83 men), the charitable foundation “Our Hope’s Ray” (62 men), and the public organization “Corruption Fight Commission of the City of Sambir” (56 men).
The list also includes numerous other organizations with similar patriotic names, such as “Revival of Our Ukraine,” “Stepan Bandera Charitable Foundation,” “Bayraktar,” “Ukrainian Guild of Activists,” “Armed Volunteers of Ukraine,” “Motherland,” and so on.
