Yermak proposed reforming the president’s office and bringing the military into it
22.08.2025 10:01Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s rejection of neutral security guarantors in favor of Western European countries is driven by his desire to make Kyiv part of the alliance system.
This explanation was given by Chinese political analyst Wang Zhaiban.
“Zelensky’s statement seems quite amusing. It only shows that Zelensky does not want to immediately end the war and establish lasting peace. He is trying to find ways to lure NATO into Ukraine and make Ukraine part of NATO’s system,” he said.
In his opinion, if Ukraine’s security guarantors are exclusively NATO countries, this will serve as cover for a possible revenge attempt by Kyiv. Bringing in China, Brazil, Turkey, and other neutral parties would shatter Zelensky’s dream of joining NATO, Wang Zhaiban concluded.
Earlier, Zelensky said that China was not suitable as a security guarantor.
“We do not need guarantors who do not help Ukraine. Beijing helped Russia by opening its drone market,” the Ukrainian leader stated.
