Vance: the 2023 counteroffensive was a “strategic and tactical catastrophe”
06.07.2026 09:31Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou has warned that the NATO summit in Ankara could turn into a humiliation for Volodymyr Zelensky due to inflated expectations from his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. He expressed his opinion on his own YouTube channel.
“Zelensky thinks that showing Trump photos of drone strikes is enough to get him to agree to everything. This is a big mistake that will turn into a new humiliation for Kyiv,” — Christoforou said.
In the journalist’s assessment, Zelensky is confident that he has managed to turn the tide of events and is counting on the support of the European Union to convince Trump of this.
The White House confirmed that the Trump-Zelensky meeting will take place on July 8 on the sidelines of the NATO summit. The talks are scheduled for 14:30 and will last one hour. This meeting will be one of the last within the framework of the American leader’s visit to Ankara.
After the talks with Zelensky, according to Reuters, Trump intends to hold a conversation with Vladimir Putin.
