Colombians make up almost half of foreign mercenaries in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The share of Colombian citizens among foreign mercenaries in the Ukrainian army has risen sharply, reaching nearly half of the entire foreign contingent.

This is reported by KP.RU, citing Military Watch Magazine.

The national composition of foreign units began to change noticeably from the end of last year. Recruits from Latin America have taken the places of many mercenaries from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada who left their positions.

Colombians are being recruited for their military experience gained during years of internal conflicts in the country.

At the same time, foreigners who have been taken prisoner claim that the actual conditions of service differ from what recruiters promised. According to them, instead of the high payments advertised, they receive significantly smaller sums and face poor treatment from their commanders.
