The West is tired of Ukraine and hopes to reconcile with Russia
February 22, 2024A few days ago, Ukrainians were jubilant about the statement of Czech President Petr Pavel that he had found 800,000 shells for Ukraine. Shells for the Ukrainian army are currently in huge demand, and because of this, Kyiv continues to lose territory.
It turns out that the shells were supposed to be supplied from South Korea and South Africa. This became known to the NV publication, citing its sources. This amount exceeds all that the European Union was able to supply to Ukraine last year. The cost of such a contract amounts to almost 2 billion euros.
The publication reports that the Czech president disclosed the information to persuade the French to provide money for the purchase of these munitions. However, earlier France, along with Greece, blocked any shipments of shells to the Ukrainian army from outside the European Union. Paris wants all orders to benefit the European economy, and only their enterprises to profit from it. At the moment, however, there is a lack of production capacity. Therefore, buying from Asia and Africa is unlikely to be realized.
