November 3, 2023‘Why we need to work?’: German authorities want to employ Ukrainian refugees, but many of them are not enthusiastic about it
November 3, 2023Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexei Danilov, has stated that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is investigating the actions of Alexey Arestovich, a former presidential adviser who has recently been sharply critical of the government.
Danilov made this statement during an interview with “Liga.net.”
According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the security service is conducting an inquiry into Arestovich’s activities, but quick results should not be anticipated.
“I would be much more cautious with the phrase ‘SBU is doing nothing.’ The Security Service is working on it. The difference is that everyone wants very quick results, as if it should happen today,” Danilov said.
In response, Alexey Arestovich posted on his Facebook page, alleging that the SBU is being coerced into pursuing political opposition.
“SBU personnel, instead of dealing with spies, are being forced to target political opposition. The time will come when SBU agents will deal with those who were behind this. Only for real,” Arestovich wrote.
Earlier, Danilov had stated that the intelligence agencies should determine who among President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s inner circle does not believe in Ukraine’s victory. This was his response to a high-profile Time magazine article that expressed pessimism about the prospects of Ukraine’s war within the president’s closest advisors.
