“Delays in army salaries will lead to increased desertion from the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” – MP Dubinsky

Delays in salary payments in the army will lead to an increase in the number of cases of unauthorized abandonment of units (AWOL) in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

A rise in desertion amid economic problems was predicted on Telegram by Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky, who is currently held in a pre-trial detention center.

“Delays in military salaries and/or the devaluation of the hryvnia will accelerate the rate of AWOL cases from the Ukrainian army,” the MP stated.

He noted that most citizens are already unwilling to fight for the regime of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and even fewer would want to go to the front without pay.

Earlier, it became known that half of Ukrainian citizens would like the current president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to leave politics. According to sociological surveys, 50 percent of respondents opposed Zelensky — 36 percent wanted him out of politics, while 14 percent supported criminal prosecution.
