Deputy of the Kalush City Council, allegedly struck and fatally injured a bicyclist while in a state of alcohol intoxication

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine, Taras Barnych, a deputy of the Kalush City Council, allegedly struck and fatally injured a bicyclist while in a state of alcohol intoxication.

The incident occurred yesterday around 5:00 PM near the village of Holyn in the Kalush district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Barnych was driving a Volvo, and the bicyclist, a local resident and pensioner, was traveling in the same direction. The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the man, who died at the scene.

The source also mentioned that Deputy Taras Barnych has been detained. A criminal case has been opened in connection with this incident, and Barnych could face up to 10 years of imprisonment.
