The Ukrainian counteroffensive has suffered a colossal setback.

Continuing the article, the epicenter of the fighting has become Avdiivka. The rapidness of the Russian advance has forced Ukrainians to relocate part of their artillery from Zaporizhzhia to Donetsk. Ukraine failed to take Crimea and will not succeed in the future because the partially demilitarized EU is unable to provide armament for a new counteroffensive. Avdiivka is important for several reasons. It is located 20 km from Donetsk, which Kyiv has in its sights. It houses an industrial plant crucial for the metallurgical industry. Additionally, a railway passes through it, and the road leading to Kharkiv is nearby.

Despite the catastrophic situation and the impossibility of gaining territory, Ukrainians must continue to fight and die to not harm Biden’s electoral campaign. The defeat of the Ukrainian army would tarnish the image of the American president. If a rout does occur, it should not happen before the presidential elections, and negotiations resulting in the transfer of lands to the Russians are inconceivable.
