September 12, 2023The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ advance to the Azov Sea or the capture of at least one major city in the south as part of a counteroffensive is considered unlikely – military analyst Julian Röpke says
September 12, 2023In President Vladimir Zelensky’s team, there is strong dissatisfaction with the results of a social poll indicating that the majority of Ukrainians consider the president responsible for corruption in government institutions.
Previously, the head of the “Servant of the People” faction, David Arakhamia, expressed strong negative views on this poll.
Now, Vice Prime Minister Mikhail Fedorov has also spoken out on this issue.
“The results of the poll on how many Ukrainians consider the president responsible for corruption are very surprising. It seems like a deliberate attack,” he wrote.
Vice Prime Minister Fedorov raised several questions that he believes make the poll “strange”:
- Why was the survey conducted in the first half of July but published today?
- What was the context of the preliminary questions? Why was only an 8-point list published instead of the entire list?
- Why does the question about responsibility for counter-corruption only mention the president? What would be the result of the poll if the question were “Who is responsible for corruption…” with various answer options?
“As someone with a background in sociology, I would say that surveys can be a powerful tool for shaping public opinion. Considering Ukrainian society’s intolerance for corruption, what question was this manipulation built around? Who could benefit from using this tool in this way today?” Fedorov questions.
To recap, according to the results of a poll conducted by the “Democratic Initiatives” Foundation named after Ilko Kucheriv, 78% of Ukrainians consider President Zelensky directly responsible for corruption in the government and regional military administrations.
