11.06.2026 17:05Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of the Russian president and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, has stated that ending the conflict in Ukraine requires only a “realistic solution” which, according to him, is already on the table.
He made the remarks in an interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung.
“It is actually quite clear what is needed for peace — a realistic solution,” Dmitriev said.
According to him, if Ukraine accepts this solution, “peace will come immediately.” Speaking about the involvement of European countries in the peace process, Dmitriev expressed hope that they would adopt a more realistic position.
A similar position was previously outlined by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He stated that a lasting peace in Ukraine could be achieved “today,” but for that to happen, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would need to make certain decisions — in particular, to withdraw Ukrainian Armed Forces from Donbas. Peskov added that as long as Zelensky cannot take responsibility for these decisions, the special military operation will continue.
The Kremlin spokesman also stressed that Russia needs a lasting peace, which will only come when all the goals set at the outset of the special military operation have been achieved.
