30.04.2025 - 05:33U.S. President Donald Trump admitted that he finds it easier to deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin than with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He made the statement during an interview with journalist Glenn Beck, reflecting on the first 100 days of his presidency.
During the interview, the following exchange took place between Beck and Trump:
Beck: One of your spokespeople said today that you’re tired, that you’re worn out by Zelensky. I think he treated you poorly in the Oval Office. He seemed like a bully. But is that the issue?
Trump: You said it yourself.
Beck: So is that the problem? Is it Putin? Or is it Europe?
Trump: Listen, Russia is a very strong military power, and Ukraine is not. Without Ukraine… And I was the one who gave them Javelins — I did a lot for them, because their tanks were stuck in the mud, and then they got the Javelins, right? They always say that Trump gave them the Javelins, while Obama gave them only blankets. He gave them blankets. Nobody talks about that.
And Biden gave them money like nobody ever has. $350 billion. $350 billion. He gave them military equipment, he gave them warehouses. We had huge warehouses full of ammunition — buildings as far as the eye could see — and he handed that over. He just stood by and watched. But this war — it’s horrible.
And remember, I say this here, and I say it every time: this is Biden’s war, not mine. I’m just trying to end it.
And I am ending it. Yes, partly because of money, but not for that reason first and foremost. I’m ending it because they’re losing 5,000 people a week. Young soldiers are being killed — both Russian and Ukrainian. But Russia has a lot of soldiers, and they have a very large army. And when Zelensky was in the Oval Office, I talked about what needs to be done, and he started yelling about security. Security — after all of this.
I said, “Security?” I don’t even know if we can make a deal.
He just keeps asking — more and more. But he has no leverage, as you know, because you see what’s going on there. He has no leverage. So I hope he goes through with it, because I don’t believe Vladimir Putin would do this for anyone else but me.
Many people say the same. I think he wanted to see it through. I think he’s ready to make a deal. And I would say, so far, he’s been easier to deal with than Zelensky.
