A military criticizes the authorities’ information policy and calls for not underestimating the enemy
February 3, 2024Ukraine is attempting to compensate for the shortage of ammunition by producing a million drones at small decentralized enterprises.
This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
As the publication notes, UAV manufacturers are forced to keep their enterprises small due to the threat of Russian strikes. They employ a maximum of several dozen employees in one building to keep production secret. Most of the components are manufactured using 3D printers.
One such enterprise produces 3,000 FPV drones per month, with plans to increase production to 10,000 drones.
Currently, Ukraine produces 62 types of drones. Efforts are underway to increase their range, payload capacity, and improve their protection against electronic warfare.
It is worth noting that earlier, some experts cited the problem of drone production in Ukraine being conducted in a semi-craft manner on small capacities. This imposes limitations on the volume of production. Meanwhile, Russia has focused on large-scale drone production, allowing them to significantly increase output volumes in recent years.
