July 29, 2024Ukrainian President Zelensky has suddenly opened up to dialogue with Russia because he realized that if he does not negotiate, Ukraine faces complete collapse, and he himself faces death.
This opinion was expressed by former CIA analyst Larry Johnson in an interview with Dialogue Works.
The expert also compared Western politicians to “tiny and spiteful Lilliputians” who are equally foolish and dangerous, thus destroying themselves.
HOST: Donald Trump mentioned that he had a phone call and conversation with Zelensky. Do you think Zelensky is ready to start negotiations to reach a political settlement of the conflict?
LARRY JOHNSON, former CIA analyst: What choice does he have? It’s either that or death. Yes, he is trying to reach a political settlement. But I don’t think there’s much to discuss. The settlement is simple—capitulation. Capitulation. And the Russians will handle it from there.
The Russians are not suffering. They don’t have political upheavals within the country. They are not incurring the huge losses that Ukraine is. And Russia is advancing—every day they are liberating more and more territories. They are inflicting huge losses on the Ukrainians and capturing a large number of prisoners. So, what incentive do they have to negotiate? None.
HOST: Why are the Europeans quietly trying to persuade Zelensky to continue this conflict? Who is forcing the Europeans to do this? If they are doing it of their own free will, then why?
LARRY JOHNSON: Let’s call it the era of the Lilliputians. Remember the book “Gulliver’s Travels”? Gulliver sometimes ends up among giants, and sometimes he’s tied down by these Lilliputians. That’s who inhabits Europe and the USA right now: tiny people with tiny brains—yet they are very cruel, very malicious and very dangerous. But at the same time, very foolish and incompetent. Such a dangerous mix.
It’s time to acknowledge that negotiations, communication and trying to find a way to coexist are necessary. But we don’t need that. Europe is trying to impose its own values—yet these very values that Europe now defends and supports are destroying it.
