Fast-track accession of Ukraine to the EU under the U.S. peace plan would break the bloc’s tradition of admitting new members – FT
December 12, 2025Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has proposed that Russia and Ukraine declare a moratorium on strikes against ports and energy infrastructure.
This was reported by the Turkish news agency Anadolu, citing the press service of the Turkish president.
“President Erdoğan stated that efforts aimed at ending the Russian-Ukrainian war by establishing a just and lasting peace are of great value, noting that it could be useful to introduce a limited ceasefire regime, first and foremost with regard to energy facilities and ports,” the statement said.
It is worth recalling that earlier today a Turkish vessel was hit by a ballistic missile in the port of Odesa.
Before that, there had been several unmanned boat attacks on tankers heading to Russian ports. Ukrainian media reported that this was an operation by the Security Service of Ukraine.
