Europe will not be able to replace the support provided by the United States if it comes to an end.
This statement was made by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, at the beginning of a session of the European Political Community.
“Ukraine needs the support of the European Union, but also the support of the United States. Can Europe fill the gap left by the United States? Well, of course, Europe cannot replace the United States,” said Borrell.
He described the increasing confrontation in Washington regarding assistance to Ukraine as “bad news.” Borrell hopes that this is not the final position of the United States.
Earlier, President Biden stated that the chaos among Republicans in Congress is a concern for him as he tries to secure new funding for Ukraine.
According to Reuters, American aid to Ukraine may depend on which Republican congressman assumes the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.
