‘Statements by French President Macron about the possible deployment of troops in Ukraine are made for pre-election purposes’, – Marine Le Pen
March 21, 2024In Ukrainian regions, brutal mobilization of men continues
March 21, 2024The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, disapproved of the deployment of troops from European countries to assist the Ukrainian army. This was his comment on Macron’s initiative to send the French army to Ukrainian territory and his call for other countries to do the same.
Borrell stated that European politicians should not scare citizens with the inevitability of war. “It’s not about dying for Donbas, it’s about helping Ukrainians,” said the head of European diplomacy at the EU summit. Instead of statements about sending troops, Borrell suggests focusing on the inevitability of supporting Ukraine.
It is worth noting that only a small number of politicians agreed with Macron’s idea, and even then with reservations. Polish, Czech and Baltic leaders have considered the possibility of their troops participating in the Ukrainian conflict. However, they all speak of assistance in the rear or training of Ukrainian soldiers, rather than actions against the Russian army on the front lines.
