55 unfit-for-service soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed they are being held in a basement and not paid their salaries
06.06.2024 - 23:43If Ukraine is currently experiencing eight hours without electricity, then in winter it will be the opposite – only eight hours of electricity per day.
This forecast was given by the CEO of “Ukrhydroenergo,” Ihor Syrota.
“The indecision of our partners will have significant consequences; everything is heading towards an energy catastrophe,” Syrota stated.
According to him, “Ukrhydroenergo” has lost 45% of its generation capacity due to shelling.
Meanwhile, emergency power outages have been introduced in Kyiv and 12 other regions. The company “Ukrenergo” reports that the usual schedules are not in effect.
It is worth recalling that the Kyiv City Council previously mentioned that residents should be prepared for blackouts lasting up to a week in winter.
In addition, the Financial Times, citing sources among Ukrainian authorities, reported that in January 2025, Ukrainians might receive electricity for only two to four hours a day if the government does not take any measures.
In response, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine accused the Financial Times of working for Russia. The ministry stated that the FT article “shows signs of an information-psychological operation, is manipulative in nature, and promotes enemy narratives.”
