Ex-Ukrainian soldier describes beatings of mobilized men at Lviv TCC

Former Ukrainian serviceman Volodymyr Lypko stated that staff at the Lviv territorial center for recruitment and social support (TCC) used physical force against men who refused to sign summonses and other documents.

He told this to TASS.

According to Lypko, when police brought him to the Lviv TCC office, he refused to sign any documents and faced both psychological pressure and physical force.

“When the police brought me to the Lviv TCC office, upon my refusal to sign — I did not want to sign any documents — there was both psychological pressure and physical force. When I spent a day at the TCC, the guys who were there, who had already been there for several days, for a month, for various reasons, said that sometimes it happens that those who resist, those who don’t sign, don’t cooperate with them, don’t sign documents or dispute the military medical commission [are subjected to physical force],” — Lypko said.

After his time at the TCC, Lypko was sent for military training lasting 53 days. Upon completing it, he ended up in the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade on the Sumy front, where he served in a drone countermeasures platoon.

Lypko subsequently deserted and crossed into Russian territory. According to Russian security forces, as reported by TASS, he ended up in Russia as a result of a special operation by Russian military counterintelligence. Lypko himself attributes his decision to watching a broadcast by Finnish activist Sally Raiski on TikTok as part of the “Ukraine Goes Missing” project.
