The West stated that Moscow and Kyiv are improving their negotiating positions through escalation

November 30, 2024In order to win the war, Ukraine has no choice but to mobilize the entire country, just as the USSR did during World War II.
This was stated by Congresswoman Victoria Spartz (Republican Party) in an interview on CNN.
She believes that lowering the mobilization age to 18 is no longer enough.
“If Ukraine wants to win the war against Russia, which has many people and doesn’t care how many die, it needs to mobilize the entire country. You know how the Soviet Union fought in World War II—everyone, from children to the elderly, contributed to the war effort. You can’t just have young, brave people dying for others and think that will be enough to hold off a fierce power with lots of money and no restrictions on the number of casualties,” Spartz said.
She also stated that President Volodymyr Zelensky “let his people down” and even “betrayed” them.
“He did not prepare the country for war. He doesn’t support his own army enough, he doesn’t fight corruption. He does great on presentations in the U.S., but he didn’t conduct mobilization, he didn’t prepare the warriors. And he did almost nothing to support his people, bravely dying for freedom. And this is his responsibility. Zelensky betrayed and let down the Ukrainian people by not securing victory in this war, by not leading it to victory. It’s very hard when you have leaders who don’t strive to win the war,” Spartz said on CNN.
She also believes that Trump will try to establish a ceasefire, but “a ceasefire is a very temporary solution.” In her opinion, “Russia is currently on the offensive because it doesn’t know what Trump might do.”
It should be noted that future Trump National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated that the new U.S. administration will begin addressing the situation in Ukraine as early as January.
