November 1, 2023Former advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Alexey Arestovych, has published his political program. In doing so, he responded to those who accused him of criticizing the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, while being abroad.
In addition to points related to fighting corruption, reducing taxes, economic development, and education, there are two interesting points in the program.
The first point: “On the front lines, we shift to a strategic defense posture. We change the personnel policy in the Armed Forces to be more people-centered: to save more lives, to cultivate more specialists.”
The second point: “Our proposal to the West is that we are ready for a ‘Kissinger option’ – we request NATO membership with a commitment not to reclaim the territories currently occupied at the time of accession and to seek their return solely through political means.”
It’s worth noting that the latter point is one of the key perspectives for those who believe that Ukraine should not continue the armed conflict until it reaches the 1991 borders but should instead establish a ceasefire along the front line and then join NATO following the “Kissinger formula” described above.
