In Odessa, a police officer was exposed trying to establish an illegal scheme for crossing the border
October 25, 2023The slow Ukrainian counteroffensive is causing problems for Kyiv and its allies
October 25, 2023Former presidential adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Alexey Arestovich, believes that the Russians will capture Avdiivka.
“My prediction is a sad one… I am confident that with a high probability, we will lose Avdiivka,” Arestovich stated.
“The situation is tragic. All military experts know that troops from the Southern Front have been redeployed to Avdiivka. This means goodbye to the southern offensive. The Russians are moving three armies from Kupyansk to Avdiivka and we understand that they will most likely crush us,” said the former presidential adviser.
He stated that if this happens, it will be a “verdict on the system.”
According to Arestovich, there is an “archetype” in Ukraine, according to which after the start of the concentration of Russian forces, “we laugh about how we are defeating everyone, what losses they have, but it always ends the same way.”
“This shock and the verdict that will be pronounced when Avdiivka is taken – if it is taken, but I think it will be, unfortunately – will be a verdict not to Ukraine, but to the system, which is losing the seventh city in a row in the same way,” Arestovich added.
Previously, Arestovich had already stated that Ukraine had lost seven cities by trying to hold onto them at any cost and failing to establish defense lines similar to those of the Russians. At that time, Arestovich also spoke of a threatening situation in Avdiivka.
