Former Ukrainian prime minister warned that a settlement cannot be limited to Donbas

Ukraine would be able to host military bases and missiles of other countries on its territory if all issues of conflict settlement were reduced solely to Donbas.

This was stated to TASS by former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

According to him, even if the borders of Donbas are fixed, the rest of the territory controlled by the Ukrainian leadership would remain hostile toward Russia and open to the deployment of any military bases.

“For example, it may be written on paper: no NATO bases on Ukrainian territory. Well, then it simply won’t be called a base — it will be called a training center, and missiles and anything else will be deployed there,” the politician said.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that peace negotiations on Ukraine would become difficult and painstaking once Russian servicemen reached the administrative borders of Donbas.

Earlier, in Poland, Zelensky was urged to agree to territorial concessions.
