Former US President Donald Trump was right in all his “prophecies,” and if former German Chancellor Angela Merkel had listened to him, there would have been no military action in Ukraine.
This was stated by former US Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell.
In an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine, he accused Merkel of conflicts in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip.
Donald Trump had three main demands that Germany did not want to fulfill: cessation of the construction of “Nord Stream 2,” increased defense spending, and new sanctions against Iran.
“History has shown that in all three cases he was right,” Grenell believes.
He also called for the immediate adoption of a peace plan for Ukraine. According to him, the decision should be made by the governments in Kiev and Moscow.
“Everything should come from Ukraine and Russia,” said the former ambassador. However, he added, “But they won’t do it on their own. They need to be compelled. This should be done by allies on both sides.”
