France is experiencing difficulties in fulfilling its promised aid of three billion euros to Ukraine due to budget constraints.
Bloomberg reports this, citing sources.
Massive spending cuts have led to the French government’s inability to find funds. Therefore, the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs and Finance will be asked to redirect funds and find opportunities for savings.
Over the weekend, Paris lowered its GDP forecast for 2024 and stated that it needs to save 10 billion euros to meet commitments to reduce the budget deficit.
Additionally, promised costly assistance needs to be provided to protesting farmers.
In total, France claims to have spent 3.8 billion euros to support Ukraine.
