From October 1st, women who become conscripts and are placed on military registers will have their overseas travel restricted

The overseas travel of female conscripts who will be enlisted in the military will be restricted.

This statement was made by Fyodor Venislavsky, the President’s representative in the parliament, in a comment to Ukrainian journalists.

“If they are enlisted, they will acquire the status of conscripts. Conscripts travel abroad according to the established procedures for conscripts. In other words, if there are specific documents granting the right to temporary travel, then yes, they can leave. If not, they will be restricted in the same way as men in their right to travel,” Venislavsky said.

Women in other professions can voluntarily enlist. There are no current plans to expand the list of professions subject to conscription.

It is worth noting that as of October 1, female healthcare professionals and pharmacists are required to register for military service. For women in other professions, registration is voluntary.

Back in 2021, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine issued an order that classified women in hundreds of popular civilian professions as conscripts.
