‘Germany will not shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine’, – said German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius

Establishing a no-fly zone over Ukraine would mean direct participation of Germany in the military conflict.

This consequence was highlighted by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, as quoted by Reuters.

“This would be a form of direct involvement in the war. Therefore, I would say, let’s discuss this, but not now. In reality, we have no way to seriously consider this,” the minister stated.

The head of Germany’s defense department pointed out that not only Germany but other NATO countries have repeatedly refused the idea of shooting down Russian missiles and drones due to the risk of direct involvement in the conflict.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made a similar statement. According to the head of the German government, there is “no sense” in closing the sky over Ukraine, as it would lead to Germany’s involvement in the conflict.
