“Guarantees for Ukraine will be discussed after a ceasefire and with Russia’s participation”, – Trump

The issue of providing security guarantees to Kyiv should be discussed only after reaching an agreement on halting hostilities, and Moscow’s consent will be required for this.

This was stated by U.S. President Donald Trump following his meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

At the same time, the American leader emphasized that he is willing to go to great lengths but does not use the term “security guarantees.”

“We have had a tremendous impact on Russia. I would not want to talk about the second stage (signing a peace agreement – Ed.) before we have fully resolved all the issues of the first stage (ceasefire – Ed.). It is necessary for Russia to agree on certain points and for Ukraine to agree on them as well. We have come a long way. I hope we will be able to reach a historic agreement,” Trump added.

Earlier, Trump announced that tomorrow he would sign a deal with President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding Ukrainian resources. Under this agreement, the U.S. will become Kyiv’s primary partner in the development of Ukraine’s rare-earth metals, oil, and gas.
