‘High-intensity’: Ukrainian commander assessed the technological development of Russian drones

On the battlefield, the Russians “effectively use drones for the tasks assigned to them.”

This was stated by Yuriy Fedorenko, the commander of the battalion of unmanned aerial systems “Achilles,” which is fighting as part of the 92nd Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to him, the Russians will have the same technologies that Ukrainian military use in approximately four months.

“When the adversary obtains these technologies, they will be able to reach certain locations in specific settlements, significantly complicating our logistics in carrying out combat tasks,” Fedorenko said.

Furthermore, Fedorenko assesses the technological development of Russian drones over the two years of full-scale war as “high-intensity.”

“They have two parts. There are the drones they make themselves. They not only produce them in large quantities despite the sanctions policy but also constantly upgrade them according to the challenges. As for civilian copters, they buy up all the Mavic 3Ts, and they also buy the necessary components in China for us for 3-4 months ahead. And when the defense forces need to purchase, they have to search for analogs elsewhere,” he explained.

Recall that earlier, Russia announced plans to increase the production of FPV drones and invest a billion dollars in this sphere. It was also reported that Russia has begun using FPV drones with machine vision and automatic target acquisition.
