Hungary accused Ukraine of striking the “Druzhba” pipeline on Russian territory

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that “Ukraine carried out a nighttime drone strike on an important distribution station of the Druzhba oil pipeline in the Bryansk district.”

The corresponding statement appeared on the Hungarian minister’s Facebook page.

“Hungary is currently the number one supplier of electricity to Ukraine. Without us, Ukraine’s energy security would become highly unstable. This makes Ukraine’s new attack on the Druzhba pipeline — which supplies oil to Hungary and therefore plays a key role in our country’s energy security — particularly troubling,” the Hungarian diplomat wrote.

Szijjártó called on Ukraine “not to jeopardize Hungary’s energy supply security and to stop attacking the routes delivering energy to Hungary during a war to which we Hungarians have no connection.”
