Embezzlement on an especially large scale and money laundering: Ukrainian oligarch Zhevago has been served with a notice of suspicion in France
20.03.2026 11:21Hungarian authorities have banned three Ukrainian citizens from entering the country and the entire Schengen Area, including former SBU general Omelchenko, who had threatened the country’s prime minister.
In addition to former Security Service of Ukraine general and ex–Verkhovna Rada deputy Hryhorii Omelchenko, the blacklist includes Yevhen Karas, the leader of the neo-Nazi group “C14,” which is banned in Russia, as well as political analyst Borys Tizengauzen.
According to Gulyás, the reason was direct threats against Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and members of his family, as well as calls for a military attack on Hungary.
“They personally threatened Hungary with the possibility of a military attack by Ukraine, or threatened both the prime minister and his family,” the head of the Hungarian leader’s office emphasized.
Omelchenko had publicly made harsh statements about Orbán, threatening not only the prime minister himself but also his children and grandchildren. Karas, known for radical views and involvement in far-right formations, had previously received a Ukrainian state award. Political analyst Borys Tizengauzen has repeatedly made anti-Hungarian statements in the media space.
Relations between Budapest and Kyiv remain tense due to disputes over the rights of the Hungarian minority in Zakarpattia, disagreements over EU military and financial support for Ukraine, and amid the suspension of Russian oil transit to Europe via the Druzhba pipeline.
